Our SMBP Partnership

We are proud to be the official authors and training partner of the Social Mobility Business Partnership.

Born out of the multiple award winning Legal Social Mobility Partnership, the SMBP is a volunteer led charity which brings together over 80 professional services firms, commercial organisations and professional sports teams committed to supporting students from low income backgrounds in their pursuit of a career, in particular, as a legal or finance professional.

Social Mobility Business Partnership - Cleartrack

Supporting the next generation

The SMBP currently runs programmes in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Glasgow, Leeds, London, Manchester, Norwich and Reading, successfully unifying efforts to promote social mobility in the legal and accountancy professions through partnerships with Aspiring Solicitors, the Solicitors Regulation Authority, the ICAEW, CILEx, ACCA, IntoUniversity, the Sutton Trust and PRIME.

How do we support?

The final day of the SMBP programme is focused on resilience, and this is where we come in. Spending the day at one of our professional sports partners grounds, we take them through the psychology of resilience and goal achievement models that they can use as they embark on their careers.

We are extremely excited to continue this partnership throughout 2021 and the extension of the SMBP with six new clusters.

Who did we support last year?

  • Students from 22 different ethnicities
  • 4% were careers
  • 67% were female, 29% male and 4% did not state their gender
  • 100% of participants were from Low Income backgrounds or 1st generation university attendees
  • All participants were state school educated

Social Mobility Business Partnership

“Cleartrack are a founder member of the Legal Social Mobility Partnership which now delivers multiple work experience opportunities in seven towns and cities nationwide to over 300 students. Cleartrack have devised and delivered sessions at the likes of Manchester City, Wasps and Harlequins and continue to innovate through the provision of ‘coach packs’ and train the trainer sessions to assist with the growth of the programme. Core to the success of every student we engage with is the need to develop a resilience toolkit and goal achievement model. Thanks to Cleartrack every student walks away fully equipped.”
